Sr. Web Developer/Master (Remote, Latin America)

Remote - US

|

Contract

Our client is a fast-growing healthcare provider operating a network of clinics across multiple US states. As they expand into new markets and service lines, they need a capable web owner to keep their digital presence growing alongside them.

This is a true ownership role — you'll be the primary point of contact for everything related to the website, working directly with the SVP of Marketing. That means balancing high-velocity execution (content updates, new pages, integration maintenance) with higher-level contributions like helping shape requirements for major initiatives, advising on technical approach, and keeping the backlog sized and scoped so the team can plan realistically. The site runs on WordPress with Elementor Pro and Crocoblock, serves a broad audience of families and providers, and is actively growing — so your work will have immediate, visible impact.

This is a long-term contract opportunity without an end date. The engagement is fully remote. The candidate can be located anywhere in Latin America. You'll need strong English communication skills (B2+ or higher) for this role.

Responsibilities
Strategic Advisory & Requirements
  • Partner with the SVP of Marketing to co-author business requirements for key web initiatives and updates
  • Evaluate proposed projects and recommend technical approaches that prioritize long-term flexibility, site performance, and scalability
  • Lead effort estimation ("t-shirt sizing") for the backlog to help define sprint cadences and realistic launch timelines
Technical Execution
  • Maintain and evolve a complex WordPress site built on Elementor Pro and Crocoblock, handling everything from routine content updates to new page development and larger-scale optimizations
  • Improve site structure to keep it responsive, efficient, and user-friendly across mobile and desktop as the organization scales
  • Own infrastructure: manage staging environments, deployment processes, and routine maintenance including plugin updates, theme management, and security monitoring
  • Manage third-party integrations with tools like Calendly, Fountain, and consent management platforms
  • Implement schema markup, structured data, and reliable tagging via Google Tag Manager and GA4 to support a data-driven marketing function
Internal Project Management
  • Interface independently with cross-functional stakeholders — People, Clinical, and others — to collect assets like bios, headshots, and clinic details
  • Own end-to-end QA for new features, ensuring everything is mobile-responsive and accessible before it reaches the SVP for final sign-off
Mandatory Requirements
  • 5+ years in a web developer or webmaster role: You've owned a website end-to-end — not just making edits, but managing its health, structure, and evolution over time.
  • Solid WordPress experience: Including custom post types, theme customization, plugin management, and dynamically templated content like team directories and location pages driven by a page builder or custom fields.
  • Strong HTML and CSS; working JavaScript: Enough JS to implement and customize integrations, not just copy-paste snippets.
  • Experience with the Google Maps JavaScript API or similar map/location tooling: You've built or meaningfully customized a map-based interface before.
  • Strong eye for layout and responsive design: You care about how things look and feel across devices, not just whether they technically work.
  • Able to work independently and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders: You can manage competing priorities, flag blockers proactively, and translate technical trade-offs into plain language.
Nice-to-Have
  • Familiarity with Elementor Pro or a comparable visual page builder
  • Performance optimization experience — PageSpeed Insights, Core Web Vitals
  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards
  • Git version control
  • Technical SEO implementation: schema markup and structured data
  • Google Tag Manager and GA4 experience
  • Familiarity with HIPAA-adjacent web considerations — privacy notices, form data handling, and similar
  • Experience with cookie consent management plugins
  • UX and design experience
Of Note
  • Completed background checks will be required before the start date if you are selected as a winning candidate.
  • A company laptop will be provided.
  • HIPAA compliance training will be required prior to your start date.
  • As a winning candidate, you will be required to disclose your engagement with DevEngine as a primary client on your professional LinkedIn profile.
