Part-time

Our client is an organization operating multidisciplinary clinical programs across the United States. Central to their mission is training — both for internal staff and external partners — delivered through a dedicated online training site built on WordPress and the LearnDash LMS plugin. As the organization scales, keeping that training infrastructure reliable and user-friendly is a top priority.

The Role
This is a focused, short-term contract engagement for a senior WordPress developer with strong hands-on experience in the LearnDash LMS ecosystem. Users on the training platform are getting stuck mid-course, and your job is to dig in, diagnose the root cause, and resolve it.

You'll work with minimal hand-holding — this is a senior, independent engagement. You'll be expected to assess the situation quickly, communicate your findings clearly, and deliver a working fix within a tight timeframe.

Engagement Details
This is a short-term, part-time contract. The engagement is fully remote, and candidates can be based anywhere in Latin America or Canada. There are no fixed timezone requirements — you'll have flexibility to work async apart from some initial meetings. You'll need strong English communication skills as this is a client-facing role.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and diagnose user-facing issues on the LearnDash-powered training site, including learners getting stuck or unable to progress through courses.
  • Identify root causes across WordPress core, the LearnDash plugin, theme conflicts, or third-party plugin interactions.
  • Implement targeted fixes and validate that course progression works correctly end-to-end.
  • Communicate your findings and the changes made in a clear, non-technical summary for internal stakeholders.
  • Document any configuration changes or recommendations for long-term platform stability.

Mandatory Requirements
  • 5+ years of WordPress development experience, including deep familiarity with plugin architecture, theme development, and troubleshooting complex multi-plugin environments.
  • Proven ability to debug and resolve issues within WordPress — you know how to read logs, isolate conflicts, and trace problems to their source.
  • Solid understanding of how LearnDash works: course structure, quiz logic, lesson progression, user enrollment, and common failure points.
  • Strong communication skills: you can explain technical findings clearly to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results within a short, defined timeframe.

Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with BuddyBoss or other LearnDash-adjacent plugins.
  • Familiarity with WP-CLI for efficient diagnostics and bulk operations.
  • Experience working with healthcare, education, or compliance-focused organizations.

Of Note
  • Completed background checks will be required before the start date if you are selected as a winning candidate.
While we strive to respond to all applicants, please understand that due to the high volume of applications we receive, providing individual feedback or responses to every candidate may not be feasible.
